Chad Taylor
Chad Taylor, President/General Manager

Chad Taylor has worked at South Shore Marina for as long as he can remember. The youngest son of Tom and Lisa Taylor, Chad started his career working during the summer on the dock at the Marina. Chad continued to work at the family marina throughout his high school years and while on breaks from college. He also joined the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve in July of 2000 and still serves in the reserves. Chad has been away from South Shore only for the two years he spent working in the auto industry and for the time required to serve on active duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Liberty Shield/Enduring Freedom. Chad now coordinates boat sales for the dealership.

Chad serves on several marine industry panels and was appointed by former Gov. Ted Strickland to the Ohio Waterways Safety Council. He has also earned honors as a Top Ten Lowe Boats salesperson, and was nominated by Boating Industry Magazine as being one of the Top 35 Young Industry Leaders under the age of 40. Chad continues to be an advocate for boater’s voices all over Southern Ohio. As well, he is active in the American Legion where he has served as several post officers and district officers. Chad enjoys boating, musky fishing, the Cincinnati Bengals, and riding his Harley-Davidson. Chad is married to his wife Stacy and they have three daughters; Brooklyn, Jenna, and Temperance.

Tom and Lisa Taylor

Tom Taylor, V.P/Operations Manager/Lead Service Technician
Lisa Taylor, Accounting/Administration
Tom and Lisa Taylor have owned and operated South Shore Marina since 1985. Lisa takes care of the books and feeds the crew! Tom actually started at South Shore Marina in 1971 while still in high school. His first job was working on the dock and filling up gas tanks with fuel! He attended his first Marine Service school in 1974. For over twenty five years Tom has been consistently rated one of the top outboard mechanics in Southwestern Ohio. Tom introduced boat sales to the business in 1992 and sold four boats that first year! Tom now concentrates his efforts in the Service Department training the other technicians and doing advanced troubleshooting.

Tom is also one of the longest running concessionaires in the Ohio State Park system. Tom laid his roots in the marine industry right here on the banks of Cowan Lake. He operated the business right out of the marina from 1985 until 2003. 2003 brought the expansion of the sales facility to the current location on Highway 730. And additional expansion was completed in 2007 at that location as well.

Justin Dysert, Sales Consultant

Justin grew up in Beavercreek Ohio. He went to high school at Carroll and graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Before Justin started working for South Shore Marina, he worked for Dick’s Sporting Goods. Starting at Dick’s when he was in high school as a sales consultant, Justin worked his way up the ladder in the company to a Lead associate and then to a Hard lines Manager. Justin’s passion and love for boating and fishing resulted in him leaving Dick’s after 8 years to take over the Sales Consultant position here at Taylor’s South Shore Marina.

Justin is an avid boater and fisherman. Any time away from work, you can normally find him fishing at Caesar’s Creek, Rocky Fork or Cowan Lake. Justin is married to his wife Amanda and they have a daughter named Emma.

Jessie Emerson, Service Advisor

Jessie started with South Shore Marina at the beginning of May of 2016. She enjoys being outside and spending time on the water soaking up the sun or going for hike at the local state parks. Some of her greatest accomplishments include watching her son roll over for the first time and getting him to sleep through the entire night…twice.  Jessie recently completed her first Service Writer Workshop by Spader Business Management. She handles all service and warranty, and helps with parts as well as watercraft registrations here at the dealership.

Theo Brocker, Service Technician

Theo was Valedictorian of his class of 2009 from Warren County Career Center and a 2011 graduate of Marine Mechanical Institute in Orlando, Florida. After graduating from MMI, Theo began his career at a large on-water operation a few hours north of here where he gained a lot of industry insight and experience in his 5 years of employment there. Theo and his family had spent many of hours on Cowan Lake and have known the Taylor family since his younger years when his father would get his boat serviced here at the dealership. South Shore and Theo finally had the opportunity to team up together in the fall of 2016. Theo is an avid boat enthusiast who also enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time. Theo has long cited that his younger years spent around Cowan Lake was the spark that made him want to pursue a career in the marine industry.
